Unlock Reality
OK I admit it, I was hooked after reading the letter in the Bookseller, wondering just exactly what was in this maunscript that made people act so strange. For those who missed it the letter read
Unlocking reality
Perhaps one or more of your readers can help me to unravel a mystery and provide the information needed to complete an unusual story, about a manuscript that is apparently having a strange effect on people who come in contact with it. It's entitled Unlock Reality.
I'm told one schoolteacher doing proof reading left for the Himalayas with his copy, not having been seen since, while an editor in her 70s took up sky diving shortly after completing work on the text. The rumour is, people are being warned of its possible effect before being allowed to work on it.
After hearing various other strange accounts about people being moved to fulfil childhood dreams after reading this thing, I naturally wanted to see it for myself, but after much effort, I am still left with only the title and my curiosity at a dead end.
It occurred to me, as this appears to still be at manuscript stage being prepared for presentation, that some one at the heart of the book trade might have come across it, and might be able to point me to a copy. My interest is in wanting to write the story, which I sense could be a good one, so any interesting tales connected with this text would also be very welcome.

Since then I have heard that 50 to 100 copies have been released through Bookcrossing, but there is nothing to confirm that this is in any way an offical release.
Here is the story so far.
None of this is confirmed as of yet.
5 Main people are involved with the production of Unlock Reality. Two reported to be monks of some sort, one a meta physics professor working in a British University and two other gifted people with no specific qualifications.
The manuscript is being prepared for world release. It will not have an author listed and none of the people concerned want their names known.
Anyone concerned with proof reading and production has to sign a confidentiality contract. Some readers have reported strange effects such as those mentioned in the Bookseller Letter. Others have complained that this information should not be kept secret.
It appears one reader has mounted a protest and rather than return the text after proofing it, has made copies and released them as Bookcrossing books. Bookcrossing is a site which allows books to be left to be found by others and tracked by reports on their site. There are currently 50 Unlock Reality books on the Bookcrossing site, which would seem to confirm this rouge element.
The reporter who wrote the Bookseller story is reported to be offering £2000 to the first person who can provide him with a genuine copy of the Unlock reality script. His address is at the bottom of the letter. As there appear to be 50 copies out there you might want to keep your eyes open.
